Homeschool Mother's Journal: Random 5 on Friday

1. First day of school--lots of goodies. 2. The Fair winner!
3. It's too early for co-op! 4. Flash flood--our neighbors yard after 30 min.
5. We are reviewing a new game--The Presidential Game.
So far, it seems to be a winner.
1. We have started school--sloooowly! Next week will be a different story

2. We also started attending our new co-op we are involved in. This week was orientation, so next week will give us a better feel of what it is like, though I'm a little nervous about teaching Economics.

3. We picked up our items from the fair. Destini won a 1st Place ribbon for one of her quilts and came home with a stash of prizes. She also received a 1st Place ribbon for her scrapbook page and 2nd Place ribbon for her cross-stitch. I received two 2nd Place ribbons for sewing and Caleb got a 2nd Place for his Lego creation.

4. We experienced thunder, lighting, and flash flooding--a very rare thing, the thunder and lighting that is, in Oregon. Delani was totally mesmerized by it all.

5. Which leads me to my last random thought and which I'm going to share my heart--I am not looking forward to fall! Fall is NOT my favorite season at all. Honestly, I just want to scream every time I hear (or read) someone rhapsodizing about how fall is their favorite season and how wonderful it is (Huh??). The only things that make fall bearable is pumpkin and apple desserts!

  2. I enjoy fall, but here in AL it's a blessed relief from the heat and humidity of summer!

My eldest is working on an apron with my mom to enter in the fair.

    You go, mom, for assigning P & P! :)
