Teaser Tuesday

Teaser Tuesday is hosted by Should be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
•Grab your current read
•Open to a random page

•Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
•BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
•Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Uncle Tom's Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe

For convenience' sake, we have said, hitherto, two gentlemen. One of the parties, however, when critically examined, did not seem, strictly speaking, to come under the species. p. 5

  4. Wonderful teaser! I've never actually read this book -- just had a very short version read to me in school. I should give it a try one of these days. Hope you enjoy it!

  5. An interesting teaser, lol. This is on my classics TBR shelf, but it may be a while before I get to it. After Anna Karenina, I need a few shorter, less-involved classics before tackling another "heavy" one. Thanks for visiting!

  7. I'm not quite sure how to interpret this teaser and I've never read Uncle Tom's Cabin. Does a movie version count? ;)
