Reading Journal #8 - March 23:The Money Saving Mom's Budget & More
The Money Saving Mom's Budget: Slash Your Spending, Pay Down Your Debt, Streamline Your Life, and Save Thousands a Year by Crystal Paine
My thoughts:
This book is a filled with many practical, down-to-earth financial advice. If you are wanting to know where to start on cutting down expenses and saving money this book is for you. There is also a wonderful resource of worksheets included at the back of the book. If you are already paying down debt and saving money this will be a nice refresher.
In Too Deep (The Kincaid Brides) by Mary Connealy
My thoughts:
In Too Deep is the second book in the Kincaid Brides Series and continues the story of Ethan and Audra who were introduced in Out of Control. While entering a marriage of convenience, they both have to learn to overcome their fears, while fighting the evil around them. Ultimately, they must learn to trust their own feelings for each other.
Mary Connealy is one of my favorite Christian authors. Her stories are not only full of suspense, but also extremely humorous. She definitely has a way with words!
Mrs. Pollifax and the Second Thief by Dorothy Gilman
My thoughts:
Mrs. Pollifax meet up with her old friend, John Sebastian Farrell in Sicily. Of course, her assignments are never easy and she is instantly thrown in the thick of it with Mr. Farrell and the lovely CIA agent, Kate. Coming face to face with a deadly assassin causes confusion, but when he shows up asking for help the mystery deepens. Of course, Mrs. Pollifax is at her best coming up with solutions and maybe even putting in a karate chop or two! I have been listening to this series on audio CD and Barbara Rosenblat does a fabulous job of narrating.
A Fine and Pleasant Misery by Patrick McManus
My thoughts:
A friend let me borrow this book and highly recommended it. Patrick McManus is a very funny writer. Filled with stories told tongue-in-cheek his many experiences of the great outdoors, you can't help but laugh. I do have to admit they probably strengthened my resolve to never go camping. Give me a hotel and great shopping any day!
