"Just Like Destini's!"
Delani (posing in what she has termed her "Belle" outfit) has been very insistent lately in having her hair done "just like Destini's!" This can at time make it hard for me to do since she has 1/8 of the hair Destini does. This last Sunday she was not happy with her hair until it had a clip and was put up "just like Destini's!"
I know it isn't easy to have someone always looking up to you, but I think Destini is doing a good job showing her sister how it is done.

The Homeschool Mother's Journal: School Begins!
Delani using her new shape and color sorter.
In my life this week…
We started school this week and I survived!!
In our homeschool this week…
Since we are going to be taking a couple of weeks off to see my parents, we started our school work so we can get a couple of weeks under our belt. Everything went pretty well.
Caleb: We are still trying to get all the kinks out his schedule. The hardest subject to schedule has been his DIVE Biology.
Destini: Everything has fallen into place so far, except when she went to do her art book I realized that our colored pencils need to be replaced.
Chantry: Again, everything is working out well.
Delani: I purchased The Preschool Package from My Father's World and I also purchased the shape and color sorter from the Toddler Package. I wasn't able to do much with her. Hopefully, we will do better this week.
Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…
After our first day of school was done we went to Winco and celebrated with an ice cream cone.
On Wednesday, we made it to our summer park days for our homeschool group.
My favorite thing this week was…
Summer finally arrived!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Things I’m working on…
-putting the finishing touches on all the kids' schedules
-write up a few blog posts on our schooling for this year
-finish a skirt I started for Delani and start and finish a skirt for Destini
I’m reading…
A photo, video, link, or quote to share…
Enjoying their ice cream cones!
I'm linking up at The Homeschool Chick Check out what others are doing.

Seattle Trip - Part 3
So after a morning of girl interest, it was time to let the boys have some fun. After finally finding a place to eat (which was not an easy feat when you don't have a GPS or a Smart phone) and surviving Seattle traffic (give me Portland traffic any day) we made our way down to Qwest Field which was in the process of being renamed CenturyLink Field for a tour of the stadium.
When we were finished with the tour we headed to the Museum of Flight and wandered around until our feet couldn't take it anymore!
When our feet gave out we went to eat dinner. As we were all sore and slowly getting out of our van, Chantry said, "Man, Mom, I thought we were having a vacation, not a workout!"
We had a wonderful time and made a lot of memories.
We are crazy about B-17s!
Chantry's favorite plane.
You can't tell, but that is a Blue Angel in the background. I thought the kids were better looking!

Seattle Trip - Part 1
I know it has been a little quiet here lately, but we have been taking time to enjoy our summer. A couple of weeks ago we took a small vacation to Seattle. The first day we spent sight seeing down around the Space Needle.
Delani was ready to go and see the sights. (I know she looks like Pebbles from the Flinstones. She insisted that she have a stick in her hair like her sister!)
We spent the first day walking around downtown by the Space Needle. Caleb took one look at it and declared he would not go up in it!
We also sat and enjoyed the mist from the International Fountain.
We rode the tram.
The kids did great the first day considering that we walked quite a bit, including Delani. We were glad to return to our hotel room and rest our feet!
